Let's just say an FPS shooter like Crysis 3 or Metro Last Light, which are very graphically demanding games.
EDIT: I'll be gaming at 4K, with maximum settings turned on with 2 GTX 780 Tis which get very playable framerates, only that the framerate drops can be massive and even go below 5fps at minimum.

Personally, I've played Doom on a modded Amiga 1200 and once got it down to one...yes, one FPS!
To some extent it does depend on game, FC3 can run smoothly enough to be very playable at 30 but faster paced shooters really need to be faster.
For an oldie like me, 45-55 is my aim point, with 35 as the lowest I'll accept.

I agree with coozie7.
I played Crysis on my PC with around 35-40 FPS on 1440x900 all settings to high, and it felt very real. I don't know though, never experienced 60 in that game, so could be better. But I'll say I'm fine with 35-40 FPS at minimum(frames, not settings!).
