7970 GHZ for £260 ($437/€316) - was I ripped off

I bought a Gigabyte Windforce 7970 from dabs.com in late October 2013. For £260 ($437/€316), it came with 2 AMD never settle gold codes. I learned recently that the price of 7900/r9 cards were inflated by as much as £100 due to bitcoin mining. If so, should I sell this card immediately?
My budget is £300 (€365/$504) and alternatives must be faster than the 7970, r9 280x & 770 which are roughly equal. If it's the r9 290, it must have a custom cooler.

I dunno mate 260£ for a 7970 sounds ok and second hand cards sell for shit, but that's just my opinion also if you check pricing history http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+7970+%2F+R9+280X&id=51 toy may find that statement is mistaken.
