The only thing that is preventing me from buying my next computer is the answer to this question. Can you mount a 240mm or a 280mm CPU water cooler such as Corsairs H100 or H110 to the FRONT Intake Fans of the case IF the hard drive cage is removed?!

The website says the a 240mm or 280mm radiator can be mounted in the front. However does this include the H100/H110/Other CPU water coolers??

ALSO, I am aware that the h100 and the h110 both can be mounted to the top of the case. However would it fit in a Push/Pull Configuration? With low profile memory?? or just one or the other!?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANY ADVICE!!!

The question as to whether or not you can put a h100 or h110 in the front of a case doesnt really have much to do with the case or cooler itself, it has more to do with the length of the cooler tubing than anything else.

First off, we can rule out the H110. It has 140mm fans that won't fit your case. The H100 fans are 120mm and will fit your case.

As you already know, with no other parts installed and the racks removed, you can install the H100 in the front or top of the case.

The H100 can run in push/pull. Corsair recommends that you push/pull outside air into the radiator but I've seen several tests done by people online that see little to no difference between the two configurations but they're not testing every variable (different cases, different components inside the case that may affect airflow, etc.).

As for whether or not you have room to mount it at the top, you'll be relatively far away from the motherboard's components, even if you mount the radiator below the rack and mount the fans below the radiator.

Here are a slew of pictures that show it being done.
https://www.google.com/search?q=Corsair+450D+with+H100i+GTX&rlz=1C1VFKB_enUS629US636&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiZsfX00q7KAhUE1CYKHdwmAUcQ_AUICCgC&biw=1600&bih=775#imgrc=YG1M82_7TqQMwM%3A

From what I can see, there are two possible issue you'd have. One is with the two grommeted holes that allow you to run cables behind the motherboard. You can see in the pictures that they're partially covered but still allow cables to run through them.

The other issue is with the fan on the back of the case. Some pictures that show a large non-stock fan on the back of the case and the radiator, show that it's a tight squeeze. Even so, they still fit.

Just some things to watch out for if you decide to mount it on the top.

As for mounting on the front, you'll want to make sure the two fans leading into the case are static pressure fans instead of air flow fans. SP fans are designed for this specific case where airflow fans may eventually burn out. I don't know which type comes stock on your case but my guess is that they're airflow.

Personally, I'd mount an H100 at the top of the case.

This simply isn't true.

Yes you can mount the H110 in either the front or the top of the case if you can do push/pull will depend on if your video card will still fit in the front of the case . It will not fit push/pull in the top of the case.
Be very careful who you listen to on these forums.

Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers there, big guy. I apologize. I didn't think about the fans being mounted inside of the radiator as opposed to the rack itself. They'll work inside - mounted to the radiator, but not with the radiator in and the fans out.

Yes it would still work with the fans on the outside where their originally installed then the radiator with the extra 2 fans on the inside for Push/Pull you would just need to get the proper screws.

But wouldn't the mount holes on the rack not work with the 140mm fans?

Scratch that.

I don't know if I was looking at the wrong case or what but I could have sworn I read that it had 120mm mounts at every fan location. Corsair is showing:

Front: (x2) 120/140mm
Top: (x3) 120mm or (x2) 140mm
Rear: (x1) 120mm
Bottom: (x2) 120mm

So I also sorts of messed up. I read jeremyp79's response and thought he was saying that the only thing that matters for mounting is whether or not the hoses would reach.

Again, I apologize for the mistake on my part.

Gavinbaird, top will be fine, as I mentioned. Zerk2012 covered the front. Both can work. Hopefully that helps.
