I'm planning to upgrade my GPU over this summer and I have a few questions regarding which card I should purchase. I currently have a GTX 580 and I'm using a single display that has a resolution of 1920X1200. I'm considering getting a GTX 770 4GB or a GTX 780 3GB. Will I see a big difference in performance between the two with my display being larger than the usual 1080p?

i would get the GTX 780. The 770 is good (its a rebranded GTX 680 with 4gb of VRAM). That said, the 780 is noticeable faster, and 3GB of VRAM is the sweet spot right now for VRAM. 4GB wouldn't really start being utilized until you really crank up the resolution AND/OR filters, in which case a single 770 wouldn't be strong enough to play in that ball park anyway. If you wanted to plan on SLIing in the future to game at higher resolutions etc, then maybe get the 770 with 4gb of vram (I would still side with the 780 though).

EDIT: Also, the only thing that really matters when talking about displays and how they will affect your performance is the resolution because its all about pixel count. so, a 5 inch 1080p display would be just as taxing as a 30 inch 1080p display.

EDIT 2: 1920x1200 isn't 1080p. Its 1920x1200. So yes, it is slightly more taxing than 1080p.
