Okay so I am VERY new at this. This will be my first ever build. I set out to build a good gaming PC for the lowest price I could and I THINK I may have succeeded. However, as I mentioned I am a complete noob. I would love to hear some more experienced opinions from all of you techies and gamers out there. What I need to know is: Will this run games like Titanfall, Skyrim, Warframe, Minecraft, etc. on mid to high settings? Is there anything I can do to lower the price? And just if this is a good build in general and why or why not. Also are any of these parts particularly bad/not worth my time? Without further ado, here it is: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Dnonymous/saved/4sTV

Thanks in advance,
Dillon

PSU is a little low. I'd try to go with a 500w unit if you can. Otherwise should run fairly well for the budget.

Just bear in mind the 970 chipset will only handle 1 good GPU, crossfire won't scale well. And if this board has 4+1 power I would not OC much if at all.

it looks pretty good, but there are 3 things I would change: 1. that particular motherboard has a bad vrm system and fails quite often. 2. that case does not have front panel usb 3 so if you have a usb 3 device you will either have to run it at 2.0 speed or plug it into the back. and 3. the psu is entry level quality, I like to stick with antec, seasonic, XFX, and corsairs's higher-end psu's.

Im not much of an expert, but i think you could've bumped up the ram a bit. 8GB would be much better.
Also the webpage does indicate that while your mobo supports usb 3.0, your case doesn't. Its nothing big but it could be a cause of regret.
Besides that, it looks sweet.

Since this is my very first build I planned on leaving as is. No second GPU, No OC. According to pcpartpicker it tops out at no more than 360 watts. 430w PCU Should be more than sufficient don't you think?

Clean build, gpu is underpowered by the 430w psu, suggest 500-550w, XFX has a good psu for low price, as does Antec HCG.

Great CPU, but to get better performance, you'll need a decent overclock, which this CPU is great for doing. If you do OC, you'll need a good aftermarket CPU cooler, not a 'cheap' one. CoolerMaster Hyper212 EVO is inexpensive comparatively, yet is the best in its class. Either way the CPU will run cooler and a lot quieter.

I would also suggest if you do go aftermarket cooler, arctic silver or equivalent thermal paste, and read the tutorials on this site.

Don't worry about usb3, if it comes down to it, you can always get a usb3 internal card reader, they are cheap, and that will have 2-4 usb3 slots, and will hook right to the header on the mobo. Easy.

Rest of the build looks good, great job

Hows this? http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx500... It's the cheapest 500w bronze cert PCU I could find. Sorry I'm on a VERY strict budget, as in minimum price.

EDIT: it's between this http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx500... and this http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-100b1050... which is better? Is there a cheaper one that would be sufficient?

I am aware that I have 3.0 usb headers but I need to spend absolute minimum money and I have usb 3.0 sockets in the back so it's no big dealfor me.

That Corsair will work just fine, and semi-modular just makes things easier, cleaner.
