Hello,

I have a Radeon HD 7990 and am wondering am I not getting as high of an fps as people on the internet because of my 60 hz monitor? (at times, I barely get 60 fps)

My specs:
FX-8350
Asetek 570lx (w/240mm radiator)
Gigabyte 970a-ds3p mobo
16gb ram
800w psu

I tried reinstalling drivers, reinstalling windows, updating to newest non-beta drivers, to no avail. Could it be because I have a cheap mobo? A faulty card? All gpu temps are normal (75 degrees on full load). Currently, I am running amd catalyst 13.12. I was surprised to find that there is no crossfireX option in it. Any help is greatly appreciated

Whenever i turn VSync on, (for some games) fps becomes very crappy

The bigger problem I have is that sometimes the fps drops to 7 and suddenly catalyst crashes or the whole computer freezes

it is barely even hot. (75 max). For some reason, i cant use the 2nd gpu, and it shows up as a disabled adapter on catalyst. This issue happened ever since I started using the computer

Yep that could definitely be causing a problem.

I found the EVGA SuperNOVA 750G2 80 Plus Gold Certified ATX12V/EPS12V 750W Power Supply. Is it good?

Yes that is a very good PSU.

Ok i will go ahead and buy it, but I dont think the disabled adapter problem I have will be magically solved by a new PSU

Even if it doesn't, it is peace of mind.

You should probably spend some money now on a decent power supply or spend alot more when the PSU inevitable dies and kills the whole system. The 2nd GPU is probably disabled do to a of a lack of power or a lack of stable power. It's also possible the card has been damaged from getting bad power. Cheap PSU's are notorious for damaging other components.

Thanks for your help, but do you know a solution for the disabled adapter problem, or are you going to tell me to buy a 780 ti or something (jk)

It is a power saving feature. Try disabling ULPS (google that)

It was one of the first things I did (regedit , enableULPS = 0)

I get that, but the 2nd gpu always has 0% usage, and why dont I have choice of turning crossfireX on or off. Or did AMD remove that feature

Is it zero usage in every application? Are you running full screen or windowed mode?
