when i start windows xp i get a box appearing saying the following.
"Security Alert-Revocation for information for the security certificate for this site is not available.
Do you want to proceed?"then theres the 3 boxes below asking ,Yes-No-view certificate.

this only started recently, have used autorun but there is no mention of it in there.
Does anyone know how to get rid of this please?
even if i press view certificate and click the option to install i still always get this mesage appearing when windows xp boots up.

am running xp pro,service pack3,Pentium 3.40ghz,1.87Gb Ram.

thanks in advance for any input.

1. Check your BIOS date/time... after pressing the power buttom, press DEL repeatedly till you read in the BIOS post that it's goint into Setup. The date and time should be on the main BIOS menu. If date or time are off, replace the BIOS battery.

2. Install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and do a full scan.

3. If nothing yet, scan with an Online Antivirus Scanner

If your clock is always wrong after a reboot, the motherboard/bios battery most likely needs replaced.

Yeah, even the antivirus was probably infected. The problem should now be solved but in case it comes back, disable System Restore before running scanns so the virus doesn't have where to hide from the scanner, or save copies of itself and later restore itself on the system.

any idea where i can buy a new battery for the asus A7V8X-X motherboard? time and date keeps showing wrong time and date.
i was able to correct the time but it wouldn't let me change to the correct year in BIOS settings?

You can buy them most anywhere. They aren't special. Your local Radio Shack should definately have one. They are CR2032.

The CR2032 size battery is the standard size for all PCs and it's available anywhere you can find computer parts, accessories, consumables and other electronics (and even some places where you don't usually find the type of merchandise).. They are very cheap and available everywhere and you can even use one from another computer if necessary and if one is available.
