Hi, I ran Samsung Magician and it told me I had available SATA III ports and that I need to plug it into the the SATA III for better performance.

If I were to change the drive to the SATA III port would it erase any of my data? Or could I just reboot into windows like a normal boot afterwards?

I have a Samsung 840 PRO 250GB

With a X79 Sabertooth Deluxe mother board.

The board has two 2 x SATA 3 6Gb/s ports, and they're the brown ones. The black ones, and there are 4 are the SATA 2 3Gb/s.

Thanks, I see the SATA III port, but its plugged into the SATA II port. Will switching it be a issue?

Or will it not have a effect and I can do a normal boot.

No problem at all. Changing the SATA port affects nothing at all.
