I've currently got a Gigabyte GTX 670, its a great card but I'm wanting some more power.

I've been looking around for quite a while now, was going to wait for Maxwell but now that that is delayed until possibly early 2015... I don't wanna wait.

I was considering SLI-ing but have heard that there is possibility of that not working so great and honestly I just can't find any used ones (or new) in Canada for a reasonable price.

There are a few options I've been looking at and I am unsure which would be the most cost effective. (I'm an Nvidia guy, not really interested in AMD).

Gigabyte GTX 780 Ghz Edition
Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti Ghz Edition
Other variant of either card
Wait for Maxwell

Obviously the Ti is faster, but what I am wondering is, is the extra $200-$300 worth the performance difference between the two, and than the bigger question, will the minimum $600 upgrade (for either card) be worth while? Or am I better off waiting still for Maxwell.

Let me know your thoughts!

I think the GTX 670 should be good for now. If you're going to choose between 780 or 780 ti then choose the 780. The FPS difference won't be huge just like the difference betwee r9 280 and r9 280x where I think there's only like 5 FPS gain.

I guess you have plenty of options passed 400 dollars. By pricing (Canada newegg), 780ti is worth 750, gtx 780 is worth 550, r9 290 is worth 460, r9 290x is worth 630. 780ti is 14 % better than gtx 780 and costs 27 % more. 780ti is 13 % better than r9 290 and costs 37 % more. Gtx 780ti is 8 % better than 290x and costs 16 % more. Clearly, the r9 290 wins in performance per dollar and its not that close. If you want Nvidia, gtx 780 is the better value while 780ti is the absolute best.
