I installed a new SSD as my primary drive (OS & big apps) and now my CPU is overheating and causing my PC to crash. As high as 105 C. It usually stays between 40-50 C when I'm just on the internet or whatnot, but if I try to run a game or video/music editing software, it gets really hot fast.

Fan is running normally. It is an AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHz.

Heatsink on the motherboard near the CPU? If it's that one, it seems secure.

You probably bumped the heatsink as stated above. Just tighten it back down. If it is the stock cooler, make sure it is latched properly to the motherboard. Also make sure that the retention screws on the motherboard frame where the cooler latches are tight.
