I'm looking at buying a new graphics card tomorrow for gaming and I can't decide between:

1) EVGA Nvidia GeForce 770

2) Sapphire AMD R9 290 Tri-X
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX...

I Should mention that the 290 would be stretching my budget but if it's worth the extra money I'm happy to cash out. Also I will only be gaming on a single monitor with 1920 x 1080 resolution, I intend to get another monitor at some point but not for gaming purposes.

Thanks in advance :-)

How much is the r9 290 stretching your budget? And will you be using features like physx, gsync and that? What powersupply have you got?

I didn't want to spend more than £300 to be honest but if it's worth the extra money then I don't mind spending a bit more, and I have an OCZ ZT 650W Modular PSU :)

I'm not fussed about Physx and things like that, both cards seem to have a collection of different things exclusive to AMD or NVIDIA

I would go for the 290, but the 770 should do it just fine at 1080p.
If you really dont wanna go over budget, pick the 770. Maybe even r9 280x
