Dell S2340L vs Dell U2312HM

Is the next one really that different? I saw that the gamut reproduction,contrast ratio is the same like S2340L. What should I do? Budget is tight,as always.

Both are as good as each other, and both are FHD and IPS, just choose which one you like the look of best, can't go wrong with either. Both will be sharp and crisp due to the IPS screen, much better then a TN panel.

Is the contrast ratio good on S23? I mean especially black and white. Do I have to use any calibrating softwares?

yes, the contrast ratio is good for both monitors, though manufacturers ten to exaggerate the real difference in the contrast ratio, which isn't much.

"monitor features arsenic-free glass and a mercury-free LED panel."

Does that answer the question?, That means it has glass.
