Notes

I'm open to any part advice... New builder here. I explain some of my reasoning below but if the experienced peeps here see a part conflict coming or have some suggestions for parts/layout, I would really appreciate it.

Found myself in a strange place in life where I have recently moved and my tools as not coming within 1200 miles of my location for a while so I will not have the luxury of having 20 screwdrivers to choose from ect. and will need to purchase everything to build this. Please advise if there are tools that will make life easier and options so I don't have to mod the case ect. I do have my studio monitors, mics, headset, gaming mouse, mechanical keyboard, piano keyboard, HHD, and a monitor that will do until upgrade. I don't mind purchasing quality tools, they are treasures to a guy after all.

For games, I play shooters (being a twitchy pianist) so I will probably prefer to purchase a monitor that trades image quality for refresh speed. The reason I am considering two Nvidea cards is to adequately support the ASUS ROG Swift if reviewers find it favorable. GSync will be a must as I have allot of issues with screen tearing and would just assume have a better experience. (Anything will be better than living with the company laptop however!)

I do plan on purchasing the new Intel Haswell refresh processor unlocked after June 2nd and the Asus Maximus VII Hero. From what I have read, this isn't anticipated to be a significant improvement but I am leaning on trying the new equipment so I can share some results and enjoy having the latest hardware. Please advise if you think this is a poor choice.

I've selected an air cooling option for this build but I would also be happy with a closed loop liquid option. There is the possibility that I will be moving once again this year (not very far). At under $60, the Noctua CPU cooler seems like a bargain for a well constructed cooler. There have been some reviews of the Corsair 650D having noise issues with the front fans. I'm open to swapping all of the case fans for Noctua to compliment the cooler if I go that route.

The look of the Corsair case without the optical drive is just too appealing as is so I will purchase an external drive and leave the natural beauty of the case alone. This probably expands the cooling options and maybe airflow also.

There will be a build log on OCN but I wanted to hear from the Toms HD community also.

Thanks so much!

I added a closed loop liquid cooler
Corsair H105.
You can also consider Cooler Master Nepton 280L

I added a better PSU so you will have some headroom if you consider overclocking

I also added a better motherboard to justify cost of Maximus VII series

The RAM is also a better one

I left the Sound Card on you might be knowing them better than i do.

You still have ~$200
In case Haswell refresh processors are costlier, these funds will cover you

Couldn't find 650D in the list so added 750D

Cheers :)

Thank-you

The closed loop cooling, better motherboard and PSU is a great idea. I wouldn't have come to those conclusions without your help.
