Monitor wavy lines after PC upgrade

Horizantal wavy lines are appearing on my monitor after PC upgrade.

Initially I had a setup of :
Pentium 4 3Ghz
Intel D945GCCR
Zion 2 gb 533 Mhz ddr2
Seagate 160 gb
Sapphire radeon HD 6670 1 gb gddr5

I upgraded to :
AMD FX 6300
Gigabyte GA-970-DS3P
Corsair Vengeance 4gb 1600Mhz ddr3
Corsair CX-500
Cooler Master N300-KKN2
*The graphics card and the HDD are the old ones.

Whereas the monitor is a crappy HP L1506 with a max resolution of 1024x768 and a max refresh rate of 75Hz.

The monitor worked fine with the previous setup but with the new rig waves are visible generally behind a dark background, and more when the mouse is moved.
Waves are not that visible when playing games.
I have checked the cable connections and changed the refresh rates, but no use.

Is there a problem with the total setup? Everything else is working fine...

Im assuming those are just scanlines. Nothing to be worried about with a bad monitor..

no no not scanlines..they are flickering horizontal waves...
but they were not there with the previous setup...

HAve you overclocked at all with that gpu ?

nope i havent...actually i have been noticing the waves from the moment i made the new setup
