Hi,

I have an AMD Radeon HD 7750 and my brother has an AMD Radeon HD 7610m. We both have the same problem, when we updated our AMD drivers from v13.12 to v14 we both get Blue screen of death at random times, but when we downgraded to v13.12 everything went fine.

I install drivers using these steps:
1- Extreme Uninstall old driver using AMD Install Manager.
2- Boot into safe mode and use DriverSweeper (Now called Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove all driver leftovers.
3- Boot into normal mode and install new driver, then reboot.

My 7750 temps are low, 25C when idle and 35C when on full load.

The blue screen error shows atimpag.sys file name.

I also noticed that the name of the device changes from "AMD Radeon HD 7750" to "AMD Radeon HD 7700 series" when using the NEW driver, which is annoying as I can't know the device real name using GPUz or any other software.

Best,
MJaoune

What's this obsession with updating a driver just so you have the latest version? It is not necessary, nor is it even advisable. If a driver and it's related device are working okay, leave it alone.

Use whichever driver doesn't give you problems and stick with it.

You only ever update a driver to correct a problem you are experiencing, or if the update adds new features that you need.

What if I want to use the new Mantle Renderer? And why aren't the newer drivers compatible with the HD 7000 series even though they are listed as compatible products for that driver?

The Radeon HD 7750 is not that old, and it is still being sold in many regions, so it would be really bad not to support it.
