Need the badge that says "I voted!", Using to work in IT, but I have more of an engineering mindset. I like to create and design, not focus on troubleshooting.

Started as an enthusiast, gravitating towards Tom's site for in-depth hardware coverage. Have to admit, I don't care much for the smaller rumor articles you guys have now. I much prefer in-depth round ups, deep dives into specific technologies, and answers to hardware configuration scenarios. I understand they require much more effort, time and money, and perhaps don't generate as many clicks. Regardless, keep the good articles coming (like your recent data recovery article) and I'll continue to visit your site. Thanks!

I would say I fall into 2 categories, IT professional and Enthusiast. Built my first computer in 1995, good old 386 DX from scavenged parts that did everything I needed it to until I could build a Pentium 200MMX a year later. Those experiences shaped my career path.

I have been a DIY-er for pretty much my whole life. My dad did it and he showed me a few things and I got into it. This was back when there were ribbon cables and not these dinky things. But hey, all in the name of faster r/w speeds.
