1. What is your budget?

$500-$700. Kinda pricey, but the only way I can guarantee the performance is by getting a gaming laptop. But if anyone can find a cheaper laptop, then by all mean do tell.

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

I have no experience with buying a laptop before. This is like my actual first laptop. With that said, maybe something around 13-15.6 inches.

3. What screen resolution do you want?

Not sure about this either. But for the sake of completeness, 1366x768, 1600x900, or whatever you guys throw at me.

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

A little bit of both. But I'm guessing the portable is on the cheaper side.

5. How much battery life do you need?

3-4 hours at least, since some of my friends said the school have a very limited number of outlets.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

Part time gamer. Mostly just browser games (to pass the time and relax), since I don't play games while in school, the only time I actually play real games is in summer break or spring break, etc..., which kinda defeat the purpose of getting a gaming laptop.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)

Mostly surfing web, watching movies online, OpenOffice, and can handle my hunger for 300 tabs in browser. And more importantly, can handle VMWare as well as all the programs for CS major.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?

1TB, just an old habit to retain all my work I have even if I don't need it. Maybe I will try to transfer to my PC when I have time, but generally, that's about the size I need.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?

Until I got my Master (3 yrs), if school allow. Otherwise, when I'm finish my Bachelor (2 yrs). After that, then as long as it works.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?

Anything that don't involve Bluray, otherwise, don't really need an optical drive.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

Like I said above, this is like my first laptop, so any brand is fine.

13. What country do you live in?

USA

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
I'm gonna need maximum mobility (may sound a bit exaggerate), since the cheapest parking ($200+) is almost two blocks away from school, and I'm probably gonna run like hell while carrying my laptop.

Oh and please don't touch. Was never a fan of touch feature. However, if it's not gonna affect things like performance, battery or money then it's fine.

Easy returns, extended warranty or something like that. Some support if anything goes wrong with the laptop would be great too.
