Hey guys I am debating the sale of this rig, I might just use it as a server if there isn't much value in it.

Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Processor BX80601920

ASUS P6T LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model

CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3

I understand this last part is probably worthless but if not let me know what it is worth
SAPPHIRE 100259-1GL Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Thanks for any help. I would sell as parts or maybe a combo I don't know

Actually that is still a pretty good rig. The Video card is a little long in the tooth. If it is in a good case with good airflow, then maybe you should around $350. I have one that is similar. It is a Gateway FX6800-01e that came with an i7 920 that has been upgraded to an i7 960 and the card was upgraded from an HD4850 to GTX 560Ti. Plus the power Supply was upgraded to the Corsair TX650w. It benches pretty well all things considered and I would take less than $500 for it and preferably $600 if I were to sell it. Has Vista installed, but have a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit for it.

Hey thanks a lot. That is better than I expected. I do remember reading somewhere that the 1336 is still going strong. The problem I have is this. I am not sure if I should sell this rig and get what I can for it, or upgrade it. If I upgrade it I was going to get a Gtx 780 ti. In turn that would probably require that I upgrade my PSU. I would also be buying a new case for aesthetics (I have a cm storm sniper, good case but the fans are going up so it makes more sense to get a better looking case, I was thinking the refine R4). At this point I would also grab a better air cooler for my Cpu to overlook it a little. Then I stuck wondering if I should upgrade the ram. That's where it's starts to make more sense to build a new rig.

My biggest concerns are, am I losing huge performance gains from using PCI express 2.0 instead of 3.0 with the 780 ti?

Should I try and find one more 2gb matching stick of ram or will there be negligible performance gains from adding more ram?

I'm just a little lost on what to do here.
