I cant make this monitor work with my apple laptop!

Here is the monitor I have

I have a 2008 Macbook.
Can some one tell me if this works with my laptop, and how to make it work.

You have the display set in Extended Desktop mode with the MacBook as the main screen. The Menu Bar and Dock will be on the MacBook display and your background screen on the TV but you can move the cursor onto the monitor screen.

In System Preferences>Display on the MacBook screen there should be an Arrangement tab when you have the MacBook hooked up to the monitor and both screens working. When you click the Arrangement tab do you see two monitors side by side? One of them will have a Menu Bar at the top. Just click on the Menu Bar and drag it to the second monitor. That will make the second monitor your main screen.

The monitor will now have the Dock and Menu Bar and windows will open on it. But you can move the cursor to the MacBook screen and move windows from the monitor over to the MacBook screen

Even after I do all you said when I power up the monitor it just says HDMI POWER SAVING MODE. Then goes black and the power light blinks red.

Wait, got my dock back but monitor still not working

I can see 7 people have read this please reply as well! Im only 14 and I just spent $150 on this monitor and its not working! Please help me!
