I am putting together a PC from what I have left over after an upgrade. After assembly, I am getting four beeps of equal length when powering up, and then it immediately shuts down and repeats. The build includes the following components:
HAF 912 case,
PH61A-P35 (B3) MSI MOBO,
i3 3220,
xigmatek 600W,
seagate barracuda 1TB,
hyper212 cooler,
and an MSI gtx 560 ti GPU.
I have tried to rectify the problem by clearing the CMOS, swapping the RAM between slots, swapping the RAM with RAM from a functioning PC, entirely removing the RAM, and removing the video card and other peripherals. There has been no change in the beep code.
I don't see any physical defects in the MOBO. The only potential problem that I can think of is that I used this MOBO with an i5 2500K and I probably upgraded the BIOS with an update from MSI. Please let me know if anyone has suggestions on what to do next to troubleshoot this problem.
