I just installed Alpine SPS-610 and SPS-517 in my 1997 Altima. This was not my first install, so I knew what I was doing. After I got all the speakers in, I turned my car to test them and everything worked great. But then after I put all the panels and seats back in place the speakers started producing static on any source I put the head unit on. The only way to stop the static is to put it on mute.

Are they all the speakers? Now you say you tested them before you put the seats and panels back on and they sounded fine. If so then the problem started after you put the seats and panels back on. I'm thinking you have interference coming from somewhere. Do you have an amplifier installed? If so then are the rca or speaker wires running beside the power wire? The magnetic field off of a hot wire will cause the static noise you're talking about. I usually see it with hot amp wires as they have a lot of amperage running through and the higher the amps the larger and stronger the magnetic field.
