Hi,

i just went 28 years old, and as a birthday gift i received 3 aoc led displays.

my current pc rig:

  • Intel Desktop Motherboard LGA1155 DDR3 1600 ATX - BOXDZ77GA-70K

    Corsair Memory Vengeance 16 Dual Channel Kit DDR3 1600 MHz 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9

    ASUS ENGTX560 DCII OC/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card, ENGTX560 DCII OC/2DI/1

i know this card wont be able to setup the 3 monitors to be able to play in the 3 at the same time.

the displays are dvi.

what gpu should i buy?

my budget is around $US 500.

also i'm considering a single card, maybe a r9 290 or a r9 280x

i dont care about brands i'm just looking for functionality for the money i can spend.

thx.

I generally recommend Nvidia, but since your budget is $500 then I would go with a R9 290X. Some of them are around $500, while the better cooling models are around ~$550-580.

Just make sure your PSU is good enough. You need at least a 550W PSU with at least 33A on a single +12V rail. You can find this information by looking up your PSU online, or by looking at the sticker on the side of the PSU.

im at the office right now so i cant check the PSU but if im correct this is the current one i have installed:

Thermaltake Power Supply 240-Pin 600 Power Supply TR-600

well i can sell my current card and get a little extra to the budget, maybe 600 i dont know.

also wish one do you think of the 290x has a better cooling system?

also im inteded to play War Thunder in the 3 monitors at Once. and some other flight simulation games.

Unfortunately, that PSU is not powerful enough. The issue is that it has two seperate 12V rails, which essentially splits the Amperage in half. One rail has 23A and the other has 20A. You will also need to buy a new PSU with a single +12V rail with at least 33A.

As for the best card, the general consensus is that the ASUS model with the DCU2 cooler is best. http://www.amazon.com/Asus-R9290X-DC2OC-4GD5-ASUS-Graphics-Cards/dp/B00HSY1TBK/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1400516634&sr=1-1&keywords=asus+290x

I found a really good deal. After $20 dollar rebate and coupon code EMCYTZG326 , this PSU is $70. It is high quality, modular, more than enough amperage, and a 7 year warranty. Can't beat that! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?nm_mc=AFC-TechBargains&cm_mmc=AFC-TechBargains-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA&Item=N82E16817182264
