Looking for a good gaming laptop around $1000 (Also comparing two)

Ok so I need a laptop for college, but I mainly need it for gaming. All i need it for for college is taking notes, but I want to be able to play games like BF3, BF4, War Thunder, Skyrim etc on high settings. Right now I'm stuck between two laptops. The Sager 8268-S and the MSI GT60 Dominator 424. I was set on the Sager until I found the Dominator. It has a bigger battery and only one fan so it gets much better battery life (it seems). It has the 4800 instead of the 4810 but that only seems to be a .1ghz difference. Any draw backs for the Dominator 424? It seems quiet unless gaming and stays around 70-80 when gaming with boost enabled. I'll use a cooling pad to keep it cooler as well.

More about good gaming laptop 1000 comparing
  1. 860M is going to perform significantly better - even with the I5 i'd go with the 860M model.
  2. I have a new budget of about $1,300 also found this computer: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8268-clevo-p150sma-p-6986.html i7, 860M 8gb of RAM, I'd upgrade to the 1TB 7,200RPM drive for $20. not sure if the 4810MQ is worth the extra $35 over the 4710MQ its it just an overclocked 4710?
  3. Ok a new-new one: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8268s-clevo-p150sma-p-6987.html?wconfigure=yes&change_view=rbm (Same but S version I'd also upgrade to a 1TB 7,200RPM drive for $20 you guys think its a good laptop?
  4. What about compared to the Sager 8268-S? It has an i7 4810MQ and 870m. I moved away from MSI after seeing sager because they had better performance, and from reviews lower temperatures, staying around 80 when gaming. I would just upgrade to a 1TB 7,200RPM HDD for $20 Link: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8268s-clevo-p150sma-eta-march-p-6987.html?wconfigure=yes
  5. From the reviews I should be able to get about 3 hrs 30mins to 4hrs out of the battery
  6. I was also told the MSI Dominator 424 is a good laptop wit a longer battery life, but I'm worried about temperatures. The Sager would reach about 80, and MSI it seems about 90-95, and only one fan. Also with the Sager is it possible to upgrade the GPU or CPU later? (I more than likely wouldn't was just wondering) And thank you for the help
  7. (Sorry for updating so often just trying to figure out the absolute best laptop I can get for the money) It actually seems like it has better cooling the GPU reaching about 80, or 70 if turbo boost cooling is on, and the CPU around 80. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0amU0wIWlNY ) if it has the 5hrs I heard from a guy on reddit it will be a perfect fit, I haven't found anything really bad a bout except that it has only one fan, but that fan seems to do very well.
  8. Ended up getting the MSI GT60 Dominator 424, better battery life, and still good temperatures.
