  • Hi all, I would to find out if my monitor is able to be used for my PS3 through using a HDMI to VGA converter or HDMI to DVI-D cable, the model of monitor is NEC MultiSync LCD1970NXp. I was looking on the internet and people said that it will work as long as the monitor is HD or at least 720p which my monitor is higher than, but I was confused by some people saying it has to be HDCP complaint so really want to get an accurate answer here.

    Thank You for the help.

Solution
HDMI to a DVI will work fine and I have seen such in my friends ps3.
The HDMI to VGA might or might not work because HDMI can transmit High Definition Copy Protected (HDCP) contents while VGA cannot do so.
Google "Easy cap" and buy one splitter if don't have one.
