Looking for a Multi-Purpose Monitor

Hello, I am looking for a monitor for a wide variety of tasks. I often game on my PC, however I also use it for school. So it would be nice to find a monitor that can also go sideways, however it is not 100% needed. Preferably 24 inches at 1080p as my 7850 would not run games very well above that. Refresh rate does not matter, but that depends on what is available. My card has an HDMI, DVI-D, and mini display port out. Looking to spend 200-300 dollars ish. It would also be nice if the colors were somewhat accurate. Games I play: Team Fortress 2, Skyrim, Minecraft, Just Cause 2, and others.
