Should i upgrade to i5 now?

Is it worth it to upgrade now to a Haswell for a gaming PC rather than to wait for the new broadwell which might or might not come Q4 this year? I want to prepare for watchdogs and other game releases this year.

im currently using
CPU and MB AMD FX6100 on a asrock 970 mb.
Video card AMD HD7770
RAM: 2x4gb 1600

planning to upgrade
i5 haswell or broadwell,
and video card $200-$300

Well haswell refresh will probably be in about a month so that might be your middle ground. Typically on these upgrade now or wait for so and so future release I recommend doing it now if your ready. There will always be cool new tech coming out in less than a year. If you try to wait to have the best you will be waiting forever.

As for GPU I would recomend the 770, its at or slightly above your top end of budget though so the 280x is a great card at the top end of your budget as well. The 760 is good at around $250 but would suggest the 770/280x

What is "Haswell Refresh"?

Slightly better clocked and efficiency versions of the already available Haswell CPUs. They will be pretty much identical but should OC better
