Hi, I have started to create a list f parts needed for a low-ish budget gaming pc build that is capable of playing ARMA 2 and DAYZ also other newer games.

i have been reading thread after thread on this subject but it seems that most builds have people recommending parts but also others that say it cannot run the games.

my budget is round £500-600 GBP which is around $900-$1000 USD

the list i have came up with is
Motherboard
Asus P8H77-V ATX LGA1155 Motherboard

HDD
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

RAM
G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

GPU
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card

PSU
Antec EarthWatts Green 500W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply

CPU
intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K CPU

CPU cooler
Corsair CW-9060007-WW Hydro Series H60

O/S
Win 7 ultimate x64

CASE
Cooler Master RC-430-KWN1 Elite 430 Midi Tower ( already ordered with dvd drive too )

my confusion lays with the GPU and CPU.
first off with the CPU is my listed one able to process ARMA 2 and DAYZ? it seems some say yes and others say no, its too outdated. Will it do the job for arma 2? could i downgrade to something cheaper or should i consider upgrading it to something else?

sencond is the GPU again some say yes its more than capable but others say it will barely run the games which doesnt make sense to me. will my gcard be enough to play the games? could i downgrade to a cheaper card or consider upgrading that too?

the choices i came across in reference to the CPU are

Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K CPU (4 x 3.40GHz, Ivy Bridge, Socket 1155, 6Mb L3 Cache, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0) ( my choice )

Intel Core i5 4670K Quad Core Retail CPU (Socket 1150, 3.40GHz, 6MB, Haswell, 84W, Intel Graphics, BX80646I74770, 4th Generation Intel Core, Turbo Boost Technology 2.0) ( an extra £20 for what seems a better processor so it made the list )

and
AMD FX8350 Black Edition 8 Core Processor (4.0/4.2GHz, 8MB Level 3 Cache, 8MB Level 2 Cache, Socket AM3+, 125W, ( cheaper of the 3 but is it better or worse than the previous 2?)

the last time i built a pc was back in 2003 so im pretty much a new comer when it comes to building mordern pc's

anyway i hope ive provided enough info to get some accurate advice but will provide more if needed.

thank you in advance for taking the time to read this post and looking forward to any replies.

EDIT: i should have also added that i am perfectly happy running games on low to medium graphics with around 30fps or more. currently i play games on a laptop that is not designed for games, 30fps is a good fps for this laptop and i dont see problems with that speed.
games like EVE online run at around 28-30 fps for me currently were as others like ARMA barely run at all and around 5fps which is pathetic and getting annoying so thats the reason for me deciding to upgrade.

You are fit in a i5 4670k and a z97 in your budget. An i5 3570k is not that outdated and is still viable but the Z97 socket allows you to upgrade your cpu to broadwell path whilst the i5 3570k is a dead socket.
A R9 270 is similar to a 7850. It can run high to ultra at around 50fps depending on your settings.
For the games you will be playing Intel cpu is more favoured by the games.
You don't need a water cpu cooler when an air cooler can do the same at a lower cost.

EDIT: copied the wrong list but that list also works.

ok ive made a new list with the parts you have kindly provided me with the ASrock motherboard and looks good to me. I didnt add the case you recommended though as ive already ordered the cooler master elite 430 and is on its way.

is your updated list a better build than i originally planned? i see the CPU is better but is the MSI Radeon R9 270 GPU better than the Gigabyte ATI HD 7850 Graphics Card (2GB GDDR5, PCI-E)

the price range of your list is perfect and works out a little cheaper than i had planned.

ok so i have done some reading about the build you provided and yes it is better than what i had planned before hand.
some things are a little more expensive than my last parts but others are cheaper and makes up the difference.

i see that the MSI r9 270 is slightly better than the 7850 making the 7850 a 7870 in comparison.

i like this build and will certainly start on buying it piece by piece, so once again thank you Suztera for you help i am more than happy with what you provided. I just hope that i can get everything bought in as little time as possible :)
