Hey this is my gaming build that I've been working on this week. I was torn on a couple things, the CPU I5 vs I7. I am pretty sold on the i7 because I want it to be able to last hopefully 3-5 years and only have to worry about upgrading GPU in the future. Hopefully hyperthreading will be taken up by more devs. I was also torn on whether or not to get a SSD. Most games I play though I have very minimal load times and I don't mind if Windows takes 30 seconds instead of 5 seconds to boot up so I think if I feel the desire i can pick up one later. Other than that I think it is pretty standard stuff but it is my first build and I would love more experienced builders thoughts and opinions before I decide to hit that purchase button! Any help is greatly appreciated I've read a lot of helpful comments on here while building already!

I wouldn't change anything! That is a great build! Well if you plan to overclock then keep it how it is. If you don't then don't get the 4770k, just get the 4770, and you don't need an unlocked Motherboard if you don't want to overclock either. I saw its been a while science you posted this, and I thought "A month ago, and no answers?!" So here is the best thing I got! I hope this helped!

revised it a bit for better build. a bit more cpu power and better powersupply :)

There really is no need for that powerful of a cpu unless you're video editing or doing CAD or something like that.....

Update: All games can be run by the i5 just as well as the i7.
