Tom’s Hardware is an online publication focused on technology that was founded in 1996 by Thomas Pabst.

Founder of the site, and it looks like he sold it in 2007.

Technology was a side hobby for him, think he ended up a doctor or something. Some of the Mods who have disappeared over time were around back when Tom was actually here, digging deep into the Mod discussion area I there are some references to him.

Dr. Thomas Pabst was the founder and original editor of Tom's Hardware, but the responses by swifty and rgd are more spot-on when it comes to "Who is Tom?" in context of the site. We are all Tom. From time to time, we're asked where he is, and our unofficial response is the same as the location of Wendy, McDonald, Hershey and other non-fictional and fictional brand founder personas.
