I have a hard drive already that I'm going to use but would like to pick up a SSD to add to the system. Is there anything I can do to reduce costs without losing performance? Is this build going to do ok? Any advice would be appreciated as most of these items are on sale for Memorial Day. Thank you.

A good site to use is http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/ It is pretty accurate in tell you if things are compatible or not.

If you look at your Motherboard, it won't handle the 8350 well at all.

A board like this would be better

The more phase count/VRM a board has, the less chance it has to overheat/throttle.

If you are looking to reduce cost, I'm assume you are on a limited budget and you should just get a 1TB HDD.

If you only want to Overclock, you might want a 550w PSU. If you want Dual GPUs you would need a 750w minimum.

I'll assume you won't overclock or have 2 GPU, so I would recommend this.

Is there something else I should be looking at as far as the GPU goes that would be in the same ballpark as the XFX Double D R9-270X-CDFC Radeon R9 270X 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card?

I can pick up a powercolor radeon hd 7850 for 149.99 with a $30 mail in rebate. So $70 cheaper than the 270x after rebates. I don't know anything about powercolor though.

I got the powercolor 7770 for a budget build when it came out. Had free games and $30 rebate. Has worked fine for me the past 2 years.

Last for this build, is there a good alternative to the RAM that I selected? Is it worth looking at going 12 or 16 gigs versus the 8?
