Hi all

What's the easiest way to obliterate Windows 8 and consign it to the can labelled 'Useless/Worthless' and install Windows 7?

My daughter bought a Lenovo 4 GB RAM AMD E-300 laptop to play The Sims amonst other stuff. Granted it's not going to strain the national power grid, but this laptop is superior to her old Samsung in every way, yet The Sims experience is worse. I think this is down to Windows 8 so I want to install Windows 7.

I hear it's a bit of a nightmare, and I've already encountered a problem just trying to back up the drivers.

Any solutions?

Thanks all

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page?selector=expand

download the
windows 7 drivers
make sure you check if you rpc is either 64 bit or 32 bit before doing so

to check
click start
right click computer button
and click properties
then under system it should say system type
and either 64 or 32 bit operating system

then after that i suggest putting the drives on a flash drive or dvd

and that's the only solution to your problem i can think of
which is just install the win 7 drivers made for that laptop with the link i i gave you

hope this helps

Thanks very much

Can I ask what you mean by putting the hard drives on a flash drive or DVD? Purely for backup reasons?

ah sorry i didn't specify i meant the windows 7 drivers
you should put on a disc or flash drive any kind of storage device really that the laptop can use

so this way here you can pop that said device into laptop and install the drivers
much easier this way

Will I have any problems just formatting and installing Win 7? I hear some worrying stories about BIOS needing to be tweaked and all that

sorry for the late reply the guys working on my house blew a fuse all good now lolz
anyway
it shouldn't be an issue i did it on multiple laptops through out my family because they also hate win 8 as do i and all laptops are different
but if your worried
i recommend you using a different Hard Drive
to test it and this way hear the hard drive with win 8 will still be usable
if win 7 is unable to work

much safer this way
If you do not have a spare then i would suggest waiting to you can get one

your choice tho

wish i could give better advice just to many different types of bios and i Cannot really tell you if that particular bios is okay with win 7

though i don't see why not
if the lenevo website has the win 7 drivers for that laptop
welt in any case it is your choice

hope this helps
