Best Graphics Card for Plain Old GDI Graphics?

I'd appreciate some advice as to the best graphics card for plain old 2D GDI graphics.

We have a mapping package which uses GDI graphics. To draw the map and all of the layers there are many BitBlts and Transparent BitBlt. On my All-in-one Dell i7, with a NVIDIA GeoForce GT750M graphics card and 2560 x 1440 display, the most complex screen redraws take about 300 ms at full screen size. This is OK but I'd like to improve upon it if possible.

So which card would improve the redraw time? Are modern cards optimized for GDI graphics? Will a high end card perform significantly better than my current graphics card or are the benefits of high end cards only apparent when doing more complex rendering (e.g. GDI+ or DirectX)?

All advice appreciated!

Steve

Yes modern graphics out perform by a long shot! Your redraw time would improve significantly.
You didn't list your system specs but I can see you have a laptop with an i7..

So depending on your budget, these are my recommendations:

NVIDIA GTX 880M - $1000+
NVIDIA GTX 870M - $900
NVIDIA GTX 780M - $800

Hi Tony - thanks for the advice. My system is actually an All-in-One Dell desktop. I guess it has a laptop graphics card.

Best regards,

Steve
