2nd 4gb GTX 680 or Single GTX 780 6GB?

I'm currently looking to upgrade my system and this is my dilemma:

I run an i7 3930k and ZOTAC GTX 680 4GB, I'm looking to get a 2nd GTX 680, but might end up just replacing the 680 with the new 780 6GB. All of the articles I look up are pertaining to the 2GB version of the 680, not comparing the 4GB with the 780.

Or hell, would a 780 ti 3GB be able to push a 45+ frames in newer games?

Monitor: HP ZR30w, 2560x1600 (Gaming), PoS Samsung 1080 side monitor for browsing or media while playing.

I think a 2nd 680 would be fastest and cheapest

If ya wanna see the effect of 2GB vs 4GB .... it's very little, even at 5760 x 1080

Given those results, I don't see the RAM as helping ya much

It doesn't seem to be cheaper. 4GB GTX 680's are $400-$500 USED. New is still around $700 at the lowest it seems, since it's just a rare card now. Hesitant to deal in used PC parts.

I would go for the additional 4gb 680. SLI is where the 4gb models make more sense.

Go with a gtx 780 6gb with acx cooler and overclock the crap out of it i got my to 1250mhz on the core and 6850mhz on the memory it beats my brother dual gtx 680 classified editions in every game @2560by1600 but if you have the money go buy a gtx titan black with the kracken g10 and a corsair h110 overclock the crap out of it you get with in 10 to 15 percent of the titan z (your max over clock should be 1600mhz on the core and 8000mhz on the memory with higher tems 80 to 95 degrees c ) this is what i got mine to

Are you talking two 680s or a dual BIOS 680. If your 780 is beating his 2 680s....even reference 680s there's something very wrong with his system.

And note that the numbers were taken 1 day after the card was launched..... and we all know that multi card performance increases as drivers for brand new cards improve. and we are also comparing two reference cards versus a factory overclocked card

As for your 1250 OC, I think you intended to say Boost Clock is 1250 Mhz not base core clock ...that would be a 45% OC
