How to sleep Properly?

I don't get a full 8 hours of sleep everyday. Is it okay if I sleep 8 hours a day but not continuously?
What is your idea about doing pushups on a daily basis twice or thrice every day?
Tell me some workouts to increase my chest mass staying at home.

Thank You.

IMO you should sleep at night and get out during the day. Daytime sleep has a somewhat bad reputation in the latest studies but getting enough sleep, about 8 hours, is quite possibly critical for brain health. If you can't sleep 8 straight then get up for a short period during the night but then get back to bed before too long. I'd limit daytime naps to under a half hour. Getting this in balance takes some time to condition the body to a new schedule but it is worth the effort.

Sorry Rakesh, but I'm only a sleep hobbyist :)

you could do 3 sets of 20 pushups, and then do that like every hour or every two hours everyday. it really adds up

Do push-ups in the first 30 mins of waking up if you can. It'll help get your blood flowing.

You can do push-ups throughout the day and it really doesn't matter when you do them and how many you do each time. Try not to workout within an hour of eating though - your blood is needed to digest and you don't want to be horizontal while food is still in your stomach.

Prioritize form over quantity when doing push-ups. It can actually be a lot harder to do 10 slow push-ups than 20 fast ones if you're keeping good form. I like to do 25 push-ups at a time and like to hit 100 per day (I'm doing insanity right now, so it's only 50/day currently). Do push-ups or any other quick exercise while waiting for a game to load (i.e. League of Legends) or whenever you have a few minutes of down-time. Drink lots of water, too!

As for sleep, it is much better to get 8 continuous hours of sleep rather than something like 4 and 4. Your body/brain go through sleep cycles that are roughly 90 minutes long each and its healthier to make sure you get to the REM sleep stage, which generally only occurs after 4 stages of NREM sleep. Fun fact - you can dream during NREM sleep, so don't mistake dreaming during a 1-2 hour nap for always being REM sleep.

I do the other chest related exercises twice a week.
I am afraid that doing push ups daily may not let my muscles grow. :(

From what I've heard/read, to keep your muscles growing, you need to be working out at least 4 times a week, but usually 5-6/week. Working out twice a week only maintains muscle mass. You will only continue to gain muscle mass by working out more. Just make sure you have 1 or 2 days of rest per week.

Thank you.
And yes one more question which you answered in your previous answers already.
So I can do push ups any time after 2 hours of my meal?

Yup, you definitely can.

Also, if it helps, after doing a big workout (lets say your twice a week workout), try to eat/drink within 30 minutes of finishing that workout.

You can eat snacks before/after working out. You can eat sooner than 1 hour before working out, but it really depends on how you feel. If I eat too much within 1 hour before working out, I'll feel sluggish (we don't have enough blood to be in your muscles and in your digestive tract at the same time).

Eating nuts/fruit 1 hour or so before working out is a good idea. It'll give you quick energy once you start working out.
