r7 260x and a lg monitor

QUICK ANSWER:
Investigate if a VGA-to-"AV IN" passive adapter exists. Possibly. Something like the "VGA to Composite" adapter.

Long answer:
It's 480i so effectively 720x480 with a 4:3 ratio. (640x480 is native 4:3 ratio however older analog TV's don't space the pixels uniformly. All flat screen TV's/Monitors do so things scale properly.

*If you CAN connect somehow, you need to setup in the HDTV section not the normal area. In the Catalyst Control Panel it would be something like "480i_50Hz_PAL".

I didn't see a manual, but it may not have any compatible connections.

GAME PERFORMANCE on a TV/Monitor is only affected by the resolution you choose, and the frame rate. This again supports a maximum of 720x480 if you can connect and is 50Hz thus 50FPS (100Hz is just a scan doubling to prevent flicker. Connection is still 50Hz).

When you get the money, this is the one with the best value IMO. Be very careful when picking monitors.
- 5ms or less preferably
- 1920x1080 (21" to 23")
- good customer reviews
- other: warranty, HDMI input?

*I believe you have COMPONENT inputs so a "VGA to Component" cable should work. This is just a random site.

AUDIO:
You don't get audio out of a VGA output. I think a "3.5mm to RCA" output would probably work. Details:
- Male 3.5mm
- Female Red/White RCA connectors
- cord long enough
- *Must be GROUPED in the audio portion of the Component input on the TV you are using (so video goes to RGB, and audio to Red/White).

SETUP:
Again I'm not 100% but I think this will work:

1. VGA-> Component adapter
2. 3.5mm-> RCA adapter
3. AMD's CCC-> HDTV section set to "480i_50Hz_PAL"
4. OVERSCAN may need to be adjust in the HDTV section

If this works you'll have a 4:3 ratio, 720x480 resolution.

*However, this is far from ideal, and the resolution is so low many/most games probably won't function since 800x600 is often the bare minimum.
