I have two builds that I was hoping someone could review for me and tell me what they think. One is a higher end build (for me) and the other is a lower end build, for my friend. I'm relatively new to the whole PC building scene so I just need someone to tell me what I should add/change. Thanks a bunch.

Higher End 1300$ build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NDYvbv

Lower End 800$ build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/v6wL4D

I already have a mouse, keyboard, and monitor at home so I don't need any of that. I don't believe my friend does though so I was also hoping you could help me make a build for under 850$ that also includes a monitor and a great keyboard and mouse.

The R9 280X 6GB was on offer for $329 before rebates. Swapped for a cheaper yet better psu.

A R9 270 beats a GTX 750Ti hands down with a better performance per dollar. GTX 750Ti is overpriced for its features in low power.

Thanks, except I have to say, I prefer Nvidia over AMD. IF I were to stick with Nvidia what card would you recommend that offers god performance for a good price?

This card then :http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-gtx770dc2oc2gd5
However, it would be better to get a R9 280X due to the vram and offers better performance per dollar than a GTX 770. There is nothing wrong with AMD gpus.
