I want to build a budget gaming pc, but I was wondering. If I install Core i5 and use the integrated intel HD 4600 GPU for gaming, and later on install a R9 270 or R7 260X GPU.
Or should I just stick with the AMD 7850K APU?

For long term i5 4670k is better. An i5 pair with a R9 270 is a good choice.
But the intel integrated graphics isn't that good for gaming really. Its ok for games like League of legends and Dota 2 at low settings.
Ideally, you can get a i5 4440 with a H81, H87 or H97 motherboard which should be cheaper than a i5 4670k with a Z87 or Z97 motherboard.
If you game at 720p, the AMD 7850K APU is also ok but if you plan to upgrade to 1080p or play more demanding games, then investing in a strong cpu first would be better.
I mean there is nothing wrong having a 7850K APU with a R9 270 later on but in my opinion, intel is a better investment.

the i5 integrated GPU can run bf3 on low, that's what I want currently and I will install R9 270 later on, and for the APU with R9 270, wouldn't it bottleneck?

Perhaps, but it won't be that much. But the single threaded performance in the i5 4670k is better and also in multi thread as well.
The APU will definitely bottleneck at higher end cards whilst the i5 can go further.
