Look for advice on a gaming computer build

I am a first time builder and after my research I have found some components that I'm looking at getting (posted below). Do you guys have any suggestions, changes, or tweaks I should make?

CPU- AMD A8-6600K Richland 3.9GHz Socket FM2 100W Desktop Processor - Black Edition AMD Radeon HD 8570D AD660KWOHLBOX

GPU- MSI N660 Gaming 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card

Ram- CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 Desktop Memory Model CMY8GX3M2A1866C9R (Red)

Hard Drive- Western Digital WD Green WD20EZRX 2TB IntelliPower 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

PSU- Corsair CS Series™ CS650M 650W Modular PSU - 80 PLUS® Gold (CP-9020077-NA)

First thought would be if going with a discrete GPU why go with an APU? I'd look to a FX 6300 CPU for a gaming rig instead

It's the wrong socket type. It needs to be fm2+ or fm2.

didn't even look at all, don't understand an APU/discrete GPU for gaming, the APU pulls your DRAM if graphics are on, and if not going to be used why bother with it

I agree just all the fm2/fm2+ are apu/discrete gpu. I'll look a the MSI sight to see what CPUs work with the board.

Do you already have the motherboard? If no, then you can go for a AM3+ socket.
If you already have it, then the Athlon 750k / 760k would be a better choice as it's practically the same as the APUs without an iGPU so you save money.
Ditch the HDD for a regular WD Blue or Seagate Barracuda drive. They are faster than the eco-friendly Green.
The CS are not the best psus. You should could get a better quality psu. For example, this XFX psu is on sale at Newegg right now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207013&cm_re=xfx_550w-_-17-207-013-_-Product
It's cheaper and higher quality.
You should have been able to save enough money for a R9-280 or GTX 760.

No I do not have anything yet except the case which was a gift. Is there any particular motherboard you think I should look for with the am3+ socket?

Then you'll be better off with the stronger FX-6300 and a 970 chipset motherboard like the ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 or the Asus M5A97 R2.0.
