Hi everyone !! I am planning to up-grade my graphic card to SAPPHIRE DUAL-X R7 265 2GB GDDR5 . Now I have a SAPPHIRE HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB GDDR5 . I am not sure about my PSU that it will run my whole system properly with R7 265 .

My full system specification is :

AMD FX 6-Core Black Edition FX-6300 3.5 GHz
GIGABYTE 78 LMT USB 3
AMD Radeon™ HD 7770 GHz Edition 1 GB DDR5
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8 GB(2x4) 1600MHz RAM
Corsair CX 500 PSU
Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD
LG DVD WRITER
CORSAIR CM FORCE 251 CABINET

I am not an overclocker . From different websites I have seen that minimum requirement is 500 watt PSU for a R7 265 . But I am in a little bit of confusion about the power supply. Should I upgrade my PSU . Please give your suggestion .

Thanks in advance .. :)

no you don´t have to upgrade your psu ...
500w corsair will run your system with ease ...
total system power consuption during gaming even with amd 265 won´t exceed 300w mark ...

Thanks a lot for your answer . Really it is very helpful to me . Can you tell me one more thing . ? Which one would be better among R7 265 2 GB , R9 270X 2 GB BOOST OC and NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB for my PSU (CX 500) .

Technically according to the manufacturer of the GPU you want to upgrade to, the 500 watt PSU you are using should be enough. The official site also claims that if you wanted to run two of these cards in crossfire that they recommend using a 600 watt PSU.

Thanks for your suggestion . No , I don't have a plan to use two graphic cards in Crossfire/SLI . Can you tell me one thing ? Which should be better among r7 265 2 gb , r9 270x 2 gb oc boost and gtx 660 2 gb for my psu ?

get amd 270 MSI gaming (same core as 270x , a bit less overclocking potential) ...
it´s more powerfull than 265 (rebranded 7850) and not much more expensive ...
your psu is good enough to handle it ...
recommendations are always a little overrated in case you would have some cheap no-name psu which often could not deliver power it is rated for on paper ...

I prefer Nvidia products myself. But strictly looking at the numbers the r9 270x is the best pick between these cards.
