HI,

I am planning on building a PC soon, but I'm still a beginner. I was just wondering if I could somehow connect the case's audio jack to the sound card. I am buying a Xonar Essence STX, which us obviously a big step up from the on-board sound of my Asus Z87-pro. It's not a huge deal, but I'd rather plug my headphones into the top of the NZXT Phantom 410 than the back.

Side question: If I connect the 4 USB ports (2 USB 2.0, 2 USB 3.0) on the top of the case to the board, will the USB ports on the back not work? Or will I effectively have 8 USB Ports?

Any response is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The sound card should have headers on it for the front panel jacks.

The USB ports on the case are separate from the ports on the motherboard. If you hook up the case USB ports to the motherboard USB headers, the actual USB ports on the back will work just fine.
