acer aspire x3400g suddenly shuts down

pc runs for about 30 min after startup. time gets shorter and shorter after each start. i put cpuid-z on it to check temps but not sure what im looking at or what temps are suppose to be

Start up the system then go to the bios..
Check if the computer will restart while staying in the bios menu.

If not, load fail safe defaults then save and exit.
Try again with cpu-z

Thats a power supply issue.

checking if pc will restart while in bios will eliminate the motherboard as the issue?

If you can start the OS in safe mode, check cpuz the if you can you can also do a system restore.

hey plaintuts, i tried OS in safe mode did a restore and pc still shutdown after about 15 min. in bios, the CPU temp was about 48c and system was about 43c. specs on my CPU is 55c to 74c so i dont think it is problem. of course CPU wasnt realy processing much at that time. im not sure what temps should be for system tho. maybe it is PSU, hate to by one and not the problem.

Does the computer restart on safe mode?

If not, then

Before changing components, it will be better to make sure by re installing the OS. To rule out possible software problems.

it will boot up in safe mode with networking and without. runs fine for awhile and still shuts down.
