Matte vs Glossy screen

What do you prefer? This could be helpful for people wondering what monitor to buy

I didn't even know there was a choice as far as monitor screens are concerned, but I'll certainly look in to it next time I have to replace mine. I do a lot of photo editing so I reckon a matte screen would be better to reduce reflections of whatever is in front of it (including my face - lol).

I guess it's only the more expensive brands that offer a choice?

What do you mean by offer a choice? Some monitors are glossy some are matte. My question is what do you prefer between a matte and glossy monitor. I wrote screen but it should be clear enough

Your post was indeed clear enough, but it still means we have to "choose" one or the other when buying a monitor doesn't it? That's what I mean by "choice".

Unless the manufacturer offers a choice there is no point in voting.

I simply meant "what do you prefer between a glossy and a matte screen". Doesn't need to be the same monitor. If you could, in some kind of dreamland, choose to have a glossy or matte screen on your monitor, what would you choose?
