Hello!

My current setup is:
Asus P5K
Core 2 Quad Q9300 2500 MHz
4GB RAM (DDR2-800 SDRAM)
GeForce 8800GT
Kingston 120gb SSD for OS and other HDDs for other stuff
500w Chieftech PSU
24" monitor

Thinking of upgrading just videocard, as other components imho are still good and current video card could be the weak link. What cards could I upgrade to, if want to keep current setup. How big change in graphics would be?

Thanks beforehand.

Depends on performance increase, wouldn`t be point buying card, which can not be fully used because of MB limitations. Budget in $ could be ~ 200-250.

the 270 has better specs than the 265, go with the 270

Isn`t 265 2GB and 270 1GB? or on my system it won`t matter?

270 has also 2gb of dedicated memory ...
270 is rebranded 7870 ...
270x has the same core but higher clocks out of the box and also better overclocking potential ...
your cpu at stock speed will bottleneck 270 to the point it almost won´t matter if you have 265 or 270 in your system ...

these statements don't matter, they are just facts that we already know. Also, I know that it will be bottlenecked that's why I showed him the 250.

You just said that the 2605 is too fast, "your cpu at stock speed will bottleneck 270 to the point it almost won´t matter if you have 265 or 270 in your system ..." do not contradict what you are saying. @OP: the MSI 265 will be the best for you as it has a good clock speed and price.

Game debate is not a good website for comparing GPUs as they do not test the GPUs under load with real games. Also, when I presented you with the facts and the truth, why are you still denying it.

i agree about gamedebate (in general) but in this exact case they are quite accurate ...
once again , i´m not contradicting or denying anything ...
but amd 250 is just terrible ... and yes in the same time 270 is a bit too much ...
260x or 265 are just fine for him ...
you are just mixing apples and oranges when you try to compare 250 with 260x or 270 ...
those are the cards on totally different levels of performance ...

That is what I recommended!! Why are you now changing your opinion again!! You clearly firsstated that the 260X and 265 were too much for his system and now your saying it's the best card?
