HDD for preformance

HI i have a spare hdd (+-400gb) and i would like to know is it possible to use it for performance / pc speed boost, and if yes could you link some good threads or sites for it, or explain how its done.

When processing large files, You can get a performance increase by having different hard disks for:
(1) system / swap
(2) input files
(3) output files

IF You are editing videos, then the extra hard disk will definitely help.

IF You are not dealing with large files, You will see little or no benefit from the extra HDD.
