how to install network adapter drivers.

I deleted my network adapter thinking it would find the drivers by itself on one of my laptops and I cant find a way to install it. I know you have to have some drives but where do you get them. I tried looking at the manufactures site but they don't have anything to do with network adapters. Please this laptop is important that I get internet on it. I'm using right now a old lenovo laptop.

all the probooks I find are 4ooo and above.

under the properties of the Ethernet controller click the Advanced tab and choose the Hardware Ids from the drop-down menu.

what is the PCI\VEN string?
