Trouble typing and keeping position on Vaio

I've got a sony vaio laptop. Trying to type anything is a huge hassle. Depending on the placement of my cursor while typing it will randomly seem to click and start typing there. Other times it just highlights and deletes text. Not sure if it's a trackpad issue or if there is a setting I can change. It's VERY annoying and makes blogging very difficult.

Any ideas?

Chances are you are hitting the trackpad while typing. Lower the sensitivity or turn it off totally and use a mouse to see if that fixes things.
