Building a gaming computer with only $700.

I only have around $700 to spend on a PC.. my laptop is about to melt from gaming so I wanted to build a desk top.. I want to use an I5 but i don't know what one is the best or where to go after that... INTERNET Pls help

With that low of a budget, just being real with you, you are forced to go with AMD CPU. and thats not bad! It will leave more money open for a better graphics card leading to more FPS. don't expect to get better FPS if u buy an intel cpu when ur budget left will be very low for the graphics card. your average Intel cpu compared to it's "related" AMD CPU will only give about 15% better performance and it will be worth twice the money.

This is a fact, amd cpu will get you more FPS because of the better Graphics card u can buy with the money saved.

Sweet. do I need a sound card or anything to go with that build? never built a computer before just got out of the box stuff so kind of new to this.

Try an AMD FX 6300. 3.5GHz stock speed (technically runs at 3.8-4.1GHz with the default turbo setting it brings). It's better than the i5 the poster above linked in the pc part picker.

Any haswell i5 (and sandy and Ivy i should think) will out perform an fx 6300

Flat out wrong. Any i5 beats the fx 6300 in single threaded performance. You don't need a sound card to do your build, all modern mobos have integrated audio.
