So i want to improve my system more for gaming i already have a r7 260x in my computer now and i was wondering if i should just get another r7 260x to crossfire with my existing one (which would be alot cheaper) or buy a r9 270x. Also if i did get the r9 270x could i crossfire it to my r7 260x or would have to run them separately

You can't CF GPUs of different families. The dual 260X cards would be faster than the single 270X, but mid-range cards don't always scale well in CF. They are also more prone to micro stutter. M-S has been pretty well eliminated now with AMD's newer drivers that contain Frame Pacing, but it is still noticeable to some folks that are sensitive to it.
