SAMSUNG U28D590D 4k Worth it?

Hey I was wondering if it was worth it to get the samsung 4k monitor for 500 bucks. Will it make any difference in gaming or am I better off getting a regular 1080p monitor? I have a gtx 780 as my graphics card.

Pretty sure you'd need to dial back the gfx quality at 4k resolution with a single 780 to get frame rates > 35-40 on average. Personally, I would rather have high quality settings with high frame rates at a lower resolution with little to no tearing than to have to put up with lower quality at a higher resolution.

Which one looks nicer though lower quality and high resolution or high quality at low resolution?

It's a personal preference, but I like higher quality at a lower resolution just to enable better textures and effects which can't be compensated for by a increasing the resolution.

difference in 4k is magnificant if you compare to 1080 it is seems like upgrading SD to HD
I have HD7950 X1 result is very good(DP connection ) If you have better card ofcourse much better I can play games @3840x2160 resolution with satisfactory results with my gpu... But windows 8.1 should be optimised for 4k resolution more seriously and software companies also. They should come up with satisfactory results..
