Hello,

I am looking into buying a PC, and I was looking at either getting a GTX 780, 770 or a AMD R9 280X. I want a future proof card and will be playing games like Watch_Dogs, Battlefield 4, Rust etc.

Specs:
CPU: i7-4790K (When released) or i5-4690
RAM: 8GB Kingston HyperX Blu RAM
HDD: 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black
MOBO: MSI G43-Z87 Gaming Motherboard
GPU: GTX 780, 770 or R9 280X
PSU: Corsair AX760 Modular

I will also be using this PC for rendering in Blender, Cinema 4D, After Effects and Premier Pro.

Thanks.

If rendering i would consider getting the i7 or FX 8350 AMD route and 16GB ram if you do rendering for professional work.
For the power supply get something cheaper than the AX760. A quality 550W is enough for a single gpu setup. Stick to brands like: Antec, Coolermaster V series, Corsair(AX or HX), EVGA SuperNova G2 Series, Seasonic or XFX.

If you can afford the GTX 780, it will be a great card for 1080p or 1440p. The GTX 770 and R9 280X are equal in performance. Either card is fine. However, consider AMD gpu since they have OpenCl and OpenGL which may be beneficial for most of your programs in gpu acceleration. Consider the R9 290 as an option as well.

I know quite a few people had problems with R9 290Xs, but I don't know about the R9 290.
In the future I want to maybe have a SLI or Crossfire set-up, so I think a AX760 will be OK. I think I will go with the i7 defiantly.

Your motherboard is not SLI compatible but only crossfire compatible.
Consider the 16GB ram as well. It will help in rendering applications.
